A premium electric bike is, in the simplest terms, an e-bike built around name-brand motors, verified battery cells, and hardware that’s designed to survive years of Canadian winters and potholed bike lanes rather than one good summer. That’s the whole pitch, and it’s also where most shoppers get talked out of their money — because … Read more

Riding down Rue Saint-Paul in Old Montreal on a regular bike feels a bit like being inside a paint mixer — every cobblestone sends a jolt through your wrists, and that’s before the first snowfall even shows up. Finding the right urban ebike for Montreal winters and cobblestones means solving two very different problems at … Read more

Toronto traffic has a personality, and it isn’t a pleasant one. Somewhere between the third-floor walk-up and the bike-share dock, a lot of Canadians quietly gave up on owning an ebike. Not because they didn’t want one — because the one they tried weighed as much as a washing machine and lived permanently chained to a railing outside, rain or shine, rust or no rust. A … Read more

Here’s a confession before we get into the good stuff: “highest rated” is one of the most quietly misleading phrases in online shopping. Slap four and a half stars on a product page and most of us stop reading right there, wallet already halfway out of our pocket. But a star average is just a … Read more

Let’s be honest: shopping for an urban e-bike under $2000 CAD feels a bit like dating apps for bicycles. Every listing promises “commuter-ready,” “powerful,” and “smooth as butter,” and somehow they all use the same three stock photos of a smiling person biking past a coffee shop. So what is an urban e-bike under $2000 … Read more
